Spuyten Duyvil Coffeehouse Gallery

More Than Coffee—It's Community

We understand what Spuyten Duyvil has been missing: a genuine local gathering place that respects your time and feeds your soul.

We’ve created something unique in this neighborhood—a space where quality coffee meets curated art, where self-service efficiency meets community warmth. While other areas of the Bronx and Manhattan have dozens of coffee options, we know residents here shouldn’t have to travel far for a great cup.

Our location serves the tight-knit community of co-op residents, families in historic homes, and daily commuters who deserve better than corporate chains or long subway rides to decent coffee. We’re here because Spuyten Duyvil deserves its own coffee culture.

How does the self-serving coffee machine work at your cafe?

Our self-serving coffee machines are designed for simplicity and consistency. You approach the touchscreen interface, select your drink type (espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc.), choose your preferred strength and size, and select any milk alternatives.

The machine grinds fresh beans, heats water to the optimal temperature, and prepares your drink with precise timing. The entire process takes about 90 seconds to 2 minutes depending on your selection.

Each machine is professionally maintained and calibrated daily to ensure consistent quality. You get the same perfect extraction whether you visit at 7 AM or 3 PM, without relying on human variables that can affect traditional coffee preparation.

We’re the only combination coffee shop and art gallery in Spuyten Duyvil, serving a neighborhood that has very few coffee options. Our self-serving approach eliminates wait times while maintaining quality—you’re not dependent on staff availability or skill level.

The gallery aspect sets us apart from typical coffee shops. We rotate local artists’ work monthly, creating a cultural experience alongside your coffee routine. You can enjoy your drink while viewing original paintings, photography, and mixed media pieces.

Our location specifically serves the Spuyten Duyvil community, which means we understand the local rhythm. We know when Metro-North commuters need quick service and when residents want to linger. The self-serving system accommodates both needs perfectly.

Our self-serving coffee machines undergo daily cleaning cycles and professional maintenance twice weekly. Each machine has built-in sanitization systems that clean the milk lines, brewing components, and water systems automatically.

The touchscreen interfaces are sanitized throughout the day, and we provide hand sanitizer stations near each machine. The automated brewing process actually reduces human contact points compared to traditional coffee preparation, making it more hygienic.

All machines are commercial-grade equipment designed for high-volume use. They feature backup systems and error monitoring, so if any component isn’t functioning optimally, the machine alerts us immediately. We maintain spare machines to ensure continuous service even during maintenance periods.

Our machines offer over a dozen base drinks including espresso, americano, cappuccino, latte, macchiato, and flat white. You can customize strength (mild, medium, strong, extra strong), size (small, medium, large), and temperature preferences.

Milk options include whole milk, 2% milk, oat milk, almond milk, and soy milk. You can also choose no milk for black coffee drinks or request extra foam for cappuccinos. Each selection is clearly labeled with caffeine content and calorie information.

We stock premium coffee beans sourced from sustainable farms, and the machines grind beans fresh for each drink. Seasonal specialty blends rotate quarterly, and we always have a decaf option available. The machines also prepare hot chocolate and chai lattes for non-coffee drinkers.

Yes, we have comfortable seating areas designed for both quick coffee breaks and longer stays. Our space includes individual tables, communal seating, and gallery-style standing areas where you can view art while enjoying your drink.

Free wifi is available throughout the space with no time limits or password requirements. We have power outlets at most seating areas for laptops and devices, making us laptop-friendly for remote workers or students.

The gallery atmosphere creates a quieter, more contemplative environment than typical busy coffee shops. You can actually have conversations, take calls, or focus on work without competing with loud music or espresso machine noise from behind a counter.

We’re open seven days a week with extended hours to serve both early commuters and evening visitors. Weekdays we open at 6 AM for Metro-North commuters and stay open until 8 PM. Weekend hours are 7 AM to 9 PM to accommodate leisurely neighborhood visits.

Street parking is available on our block and surrounding streets, which is typically easier to find than in busier NYC neighborhoods. We’re also walking distance from the Spuyten Duyvil Metro-North station, making us accessible for commuters heading to or from Manhattan.

The self-serving format means you can get quality coffee even during our busiest hours without long waits. Whether you need a quick grab-and-go or want to spend an hour viewing art, our flexible setup accommodates your schedule rather than forcing you into ours.
