You walk into a space where every wall tells a story. Local and emerging artists rotate their work monthly, giving you fresh inspiration each visit. You’re not just viewing art—you’re connecting with the creative pulse of Roosevelt Island’s growing cultural scene.
The difference is immediate. Instead of rushing through crowded Manhattan galleries, you can actually spend time with each piece, talk to artists during our regular spotlights, and discover work before it hits the mainstream. You become part of a community that values creativity, supports local talent, and understands that great art deserves great coffee.
This isn’t about pretentious gallery spaces or overpriced museum cafés. You get authentic artistic discovery paired with expertly crafted beverages, all within walking distance of your Roosevelt Island home or Cornell Tech campus.
We opened as Roosevelt Island’s answer to the question: where can our tight-knit community of 11,998 residents gather around art and great coffee? We partnered with the Roosevelt Island Visual Art Association, the same group that’s been championing local artists since 2002.
Our space reflects what makes Roosevelt Island special—that small-town feel where everybody knows everybody, combined with sophisticated cultural programming. We’re not trying to recreate Chelsea or SoHo. We’re creating something uniquely ours.
From Cornell Tech students grabbing morning coffee to retirees attending evening artist talks, we’ve become the cultural hub this island community deserved. Every month brings new exhibitions, and every cup of coffee supports both local artists and local community building.
Walk in any time during our regular hours to browse current exhibitions while enjoying coffee, pastries, or light meals. Our rotating gallery features 3-4 emerging artists each month, with clear information about each piece and artist background.
Monthly artist spotlights happen the first Friday evening of each month. You’ll meet the featured artists, learn about their process, and often watch live demonstrations. These aren’t stuffy gallery openings—they’re community conversations over wine and coffee.
For deeper engagement, we host weekend workshops where you can try techniques you’ve seen in our exhibitions. Whether it’s watercolor basics or digital art exploration, you learn directly from the artists whose work inspired you. Everything happens right here in our space, keeping it accessible and community-focused.

Your visit includes access to rotating monthly exhibitions featuring 15-20 pieces from emerging artists, many with Roosevelt Island or NYC connections. We curate work across mediums—paintings, photography, sculptures, and digital art—ensuring variety that speaks to our diverse community.
The café side delivers specialty coffee sourced from ethical roasters, along with pastries, sandwiches, and light dinner options perfect for evening events. Our space adapts throughout the day: morning coffee and quiet art viewing, afternoon meetings and casual browsing, evening events with wine and artist conversations.
Roosevelt Island’s unique demographics—37.5% young professionals, strong Cornell Tech presence, and median income of $106,146—means we serve an educated, culturally curious community. We price everything accessibly while maintaining quality that matches Manhattan standards, because living on an island shouldn’t mean compromising on cultural experiences.
We’re built for Roosevelt Island’s unique community rather than trying to replicate Manhattan’s gallery scene. You can actually spend time with artwork without crowds, talk directly to artists during regular spotlights, and discover emerging talent before they hit mainstream galleries.
Our partnership with the Roosevelt Island Visual Art Association means we showcase artists with genuine community connections. Plus, everything happens in a relaxed café setting where you can grab excellent coffee while browsing, making art accessible rather than intimidating.
The biggest difference is scale and intimacy. Instead of rushing through massive spaces, you get meaningful encounters with 15-20 carefully curated pieces each month, often with opportunities to meet the artists personally.
We rotate exhibitions monthly, typically changing displays during the last weekend of each month. This gives you fresh inspiration every four weeks while allowing artists adequate time to connect with our community.
Each month features 3-4 different artists across various mediums—paintings, photography, sculpture, and digital work. We announce upcoming exhibitions through our social channels and email list, plus preview new shows during our first Friday artist spotlight events.
The monthly rotation means regular visitors always have something new to discover, while the four-week timeline lets you revisit pieces that particularly resonate with you. Many community members make it a tradition to attend each month’s opening event.
We host monthly artist spotlights every first Friday evening, featuring the current exhibiting artists in casual conversation settings with wine and coffee. These aren’t formal presentations—they’re community conversations where you can ask questions and learn about artistic processes.
Weekend workshops happen 2-3 times per month, taught by exhibiting artists or local instructors. Recent sessions included watercolor techniques, digital photography, and sculptural basics. Class sizes stay small (8-12 people) to ensure personal attention.
For private events, we accommodate corporate meetings, birthday celebrations, and community gatherings during off-hours. The combination of inspiring artwork and quality café service makes us popular for Cornell Tech networking events and Roosevelt Island community celebrations.
We source specialty coffee from ethical roasters, focusing on single-origin beans and carefully crafted espresso drinks. Our baristas understand that great art deserves great coffee, so we maintain Manhattan-quality standards while keeping Roosevelt Island accessibility.
Food options include fresh pastries, artisanal sandwiches, salads, and light dinner plates perfect for evening events. We work with local suppliers when possible and accommodate dietary restrictions including vegan, gluten-free, and halal options reflecting our diverse community.
The menu adapts throughout the day—quick breakfast options for morning commuters, substantial lunch choices for afternoon meetings, and wine and small plates for evening artist events. Everything’s designed to complement your art viewing experience rather than distract from it.
We prioritize emerging and mid-career artists with connections to Roosevelt Island, NYC, or themes relevant to our community. Our partnership with the Roosevelt Island Visual Art Association helps identify local talent, while we also scout NYC art schools and emerging artist networks.
Selection criteria include artistic merit, community relevance, and diversity across mediums and backgrounds. We particularly value artists who can engage with our community through talks, workshops, or collaborative projects beyond just displaying work.
Each month’s exhibition typically features 3-4 artists to provide variety while allowing adequate space for each artist’s vision. We announce open calls for submissions quarterly, plus accept ongoing portfolio submissions from artists interested in future exhibitions.
We’re open Tuesday through Sunday, 7 AM to 9 PM, closed Mondays for exhibition changes and deep cleaning. Morning hours focus on coffee service and quiet art viewing, while evenings often feature events, workshops, or extended social hours.
Artist spotlight events happen the first Friday of each month from 6-8 PM, featuring current exhibiting artists in casual conversation settings. Weekend workshops typically run Saturday or Sunday afternoons, with advance registration required due to limited space.
