Connect, Create, and Discover Art Daily

You walk in feeling disconnected from your creative side. You leave inspired, energized, and part of something bigger. That’s what happens when art, coffee, and community come together in one space.

Our art gallery isn’t just walls with paintings. It’s where Greenpoint’s creative energy lives and breathes. You’ll discover emerging artists whose work speaks to you, join workshops that unlock your own creativity, and find the kind of authentic community connection that’s rare in today’s world.

The result? You become part of Brooklyn’s most vibrant art scene while enjoying exceptional coffee in a space designed for real human connection.

Local Art Gallery Greenpoint

Rooted in Greenpoint's Creative Spirit

We exist because Greenpoint deserves an art space that truly serves its creative community. We’re not trying to be the fanciest gallery in Brooklyn or the trendiest coffee shop in NYC.

We’re here to give local artists a platform, creative people a gathering place, and coffee lovers a reason to slow down and appreciate art. Our space reflects what makes Greenpoint special – that perfect blend of industrial history and artistic innovation that you can’t find anywhere else.

Every month, we feature new artists from the neighborhood and beyond, host workshops that actually teach you something useful, and serve coffee that tastes as good as it smells. Because when you combine great art with great coffee, something magical happens.

Your Creative Journey Starts Here

Walk in anytime during our gallery hours and you’ll immediately see what sets us apart. Our rotating art exhibitions change monthly, featuring everything from paintings and photography to sculptures and mixed media from Greenpoint artists and beyond.

Want to get hands-on? Check our workshop schedule. We offer figure drawing sessions, painting classes, and creative workshops throughout the week. No experience necessary – just bring your curiosity. All supplies are included, and our instructors actually know how to teach, not just create.

Between creating and viewing art, grab a coffee or light bite from our café menu. Our baristas understand that good coffee fuels good creativity, so we’ve sourced beans that complement the artistic atmosphere rather than compete with it. The result is a space where you can spend hours without feeling rushed or out of place.

About The Café Galerie

Greenpoint Art Community Events

More Than Gallery Walls and Coffee

Your membership to Brooklyn’s art scene includes monthly artist spotlights where you can meet the creators behind the work, weekly drawing sessions that welcome all skill levels, and quarterly community events that bring together Greenpoint’s creative minds.

We also host private events for groups wanting to combine art appreciation with social connection. Whether it’s a birthday celebration, corporate team building, or just friends looking for something different than another bar night, our space adapts to what you need.

Greenpoint’s art scene is unique because it’s built on community rather than competition. Artists here support each other, galleries collaborate instead of compete, and we exist to serve the neighborhood’s creative spirit. When you visit us, you’re not just getting coffee and looking at art – you’re joining a movement that’s keeping Brooklyn’s authentic creative culture alive.

What makes your art gallery different from other coffee shops in Greenpoint?

We’re not a coffee shop with art on the walls – we’re an art gallery that happens to serve exceptional coffee. The difference matters because everything we do centers around supporting artists and building creative community.

Our exhibitions change monthly and feature carefully curated work from local and visiting artists. We host regular workshops, artist talks, and community events that you won’t find at typical coffee shops. Plus, our space is designed specifically for both art appreciation and creative work, with proper lighting, comfortable seating areas, and spaces where you can actually create alongside other artists.

The coffee is excellent, but it’s in service of the larger mission: creating a space where Greenpoint’s creative community can thrive.

Absolutely not. Some of our most successful workshops are filled with people who haven’t touched art supplies since elementary school. Our instructors are chosen specifically for their ability to teach beginners while still challenging more experienced participants.

We provide all supplies and start every session with basic techniques before moving into the actual project. The goal isn’t to create museum-quality art – it’s to give you a creative outlet, teach you something new, and connect you with other people who are also exploring their artistic side.

Many of our regular workshop attendees started as complete beginners and now participate in our monthly group exhibitions. The creative journey is different for everyone, and we meet you wherever you’re starting from.

Yes, most pieces in our rotating exhibitions are available for purchase, and we work directly with artists to facilitate sales. We believe art should be accessible, so you’ll find work at various price points from emerging and established artists.

When you’re interested in a piece, we can connect you directly with the artist or handle the transaction ourselves, depending on the arrangement. We also offer payment plans for larger purchases because we want the art to find homes with people who truly connect with it, not just those who can afford to pay upfront.

Beyond individual pieces, we also help coordinate custom commissions if you’re looking for something specific. Many of our featured artists are available for commissioned work, and we can facilitate those conversations.

Weekday afternoons are perfect for first-time visitors who want to experience the space without crowds. You can take your time with the current exhibition, chat with our staff about upcoming events, and get a feel for the community atmosphere.

If you’re interested in meeting other art enthusiasts, visit during our monthly opening receptions (first Friday of each month) or drop in during our weekly drawing sessions on Wednesday evenings. These events give you a chance to see how the creative community interacts and find your place within it.

Weekend mornings are also great for a quieter experience, especially if you want to combine art viewing with a leisurely coffee and maybe some creative work of your own. We have tables and good lighting if you want to bring a sketchbook or laptop.

We love hosting private events that combine art, coffee, and community connection. Whether it’s birthday parties, corporate team building, book club meetings, or just friends wanting to try something creative together, we can customize the experience for your group.

Private workshops can focus on specific techniques like watercolor, figure drawing, or mixed media, and we provide all supplies plus instruction. For larger groups, we can arrange the space to accommodate both creative activities and socializing, with coffee and light refreshments included.

We also work with local businesses and organizations to create ongoing partnerships – monthly creative sessions for employees, quarterly art appreciation events, or seasonal workshops that align with your group’s interests. The key is creating experiences that bring people together through shared creative exploration.

Supporting local artists is central to everything we do. We reserve at least 60% of our exhibition space for Greenpoint and Brooklyn artists, providing them with professional presentation, promotion, and sales support without the typical gallery fees that can be prohibitive for emerging artists.

We also offer artist development programs including portfolio reviews, career guidance, and connections to other opportunities in the NYC art scene. Many of our featured artists have gone on to shows in Manhattan galleries or been selected for major group exhibitions after building their reputation through our space.

Beyond exhibitions, we hire local artists to lead workshops, participate in community events, and collaborate on special projects. This creates multiple income streams for artists while keeping our programming authentic to the neighborhood’s creative spirit. When you support us, you’re directly supporting the artists who make Greenpoint’s creative community so vibrant.
